Mr. Cassell, now 85years old and retired with honors from theservice of the Baltimore and Ohio, came towork with the Railroad in 1859 as greasewiper. He worked here until the beginningof the Civil War, when he answered the callof the President and served throughout theduration of the war. He was mustered outin April, 1865 and immediately re-enteredthe service of the Baltimore and Ohio atGrafton. He served in various capacities tor 49years, and in 1908 was retired.
