Chicago's Union Station Power Plant (also called Union Station Powerhouse) located north of Roosevelt Road on Taylor , Illinois, USA.
The Union Station Power Plant (also called Union Station Powerhouse) located just north of Roosevelt Road on Taylor Street reflects into the South Branch of the Chicago River. The facility, built in the 1930s, was originally a steam generating plant serving buildings in the area. The art deco-styled building has been upgraded to provide power for the surrounding West Loop area including the near by Union Station which serves Amtrak and Metra commuter lines and is one of the largest railroad stations in the United States.
