Aboriginal fishing scene. 18th-century artwork of Australian aboriginals fishing with spears from a canoe in Port Jackson. Also illustrated here are various weapons and other tools. Port Jackson is a harbour in south-eastern Australia where Sydney was founded in 1788. Recorded in 1790 by British naval officer and artist George Raper (1769-1797), this scene is drawing 18 from the Natural History Museum's Raper Collection.
