Barges being loaded from trucks by the Inland Water Transportation Co. (formerly 57th Engineers, USA) in Le Havre, France. The company's aim is to ship supplies to troops via inland waterways to alleviate pressure on railroads. When direct loading from ships is not feasible, materials are transferred to trucks for transportation. Photo taken on February 10, 1919.
