Hibernates as an adult, sometimes in great masses, and has rather a wide range of food, in- cluding pollen and fungus spores, as well as plant lice and other soft insects. This is one of the most effective enemies of plant lice in gen- eral, and is always present when there is any abnormal increase of destructive species, as, for example, the melon louse.
