Capitulation of Paris, 31 March 1814 (1900). The final battle of the War of the Sixth Coalition saw the combined armies of Russia, Prussia and Austria defeat the French commanded by Joseph Bonaparte just outside Paris. The city surrendered and Napoleon was forced to abdicate.
