210721-N-WQ732-2026 ARABIAN GULF (July 21, 2021) – Sailors assigned to guided-missile cruiser USS Monterey (CG 61) conduct small boat operations with patrol coastal ship USS Chinook (PC 9) in the Arabian Gulf, July 21. Monterey and Chinook deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
