St Lawrence Jewry, church in the City of London. 1950s window of St Lawrence by Christopher Webb
St Lawrence Jewry, church in the City of London. Rebuilt after the Great Fire of London (1666) by Christopher Wren between 1670 and 1676. Severely damaged by incendiary bombs in December 1940, and rebuilt by Cecil Brown in the late 1950s. 1950s window by Christopher Webb shows St Lawrence with a purse hanging from one hand, while the other rests on a gridiron, the emblem of his martyrdom.
