A smallbut well-supplied stock room closely adjoins, containing all the recent stainsused in modern laboratories. The top floor consists of three rooms, one of which is set aside for theuse of the Director, which contains the pathological library and tables forspecial workers. Adjoining this is the Record Room, and next is a roomfor general Janeway Hall—Resident Intern Staff House. The character of work done in the laboratory is thoroughly up to date:General and special pathological work on all material coming directlyfrom the wards of the Hospital, systematic autopsy work, and the record-ing and reporting of the findings in such cases. A new Department of Pathological Chemistry has been established, andthe room set aside for this purpose is well equipped with all the necessaryapparatus, and is well stocked with all the chemicals and reagents neces-sary for conducting this branch of work. This department is in charge ofa pathological chemist under the direction of the Director.
