Master Dinanath Mangeshkar whom the Swaramangesh concert honours, was born on December 29, 1900 in Mangueshi in Goa. He was a giant of the Marathi stage, a renowned Natya Sangeetkar and an exceptional Hindustani classical vocalist. He is also the father of well-known singers Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Meena Khadikar and Usha Mangeshkar as well as composer Hridaynath Mangeshkar.
