In 1607 Earl Patrick Stewart forced the building of the Earl's Palace in Kirkwall on Orkney Islands in Scotland. It felt into ruin in the 18th century but is still an impressive Renaissance building. 1607 ließ Graf Patrick Stewart von Zwangsarbeitern den Earl's Palace in Kirkwall auf den Orkney Inseln bauen. Im 18. Jahrhundert wurde das Bauwerk zu einer Ruine, ist aber heute noch ein eindrucksvolles Beispiel für die Renaissance in Schottland.
