DEBATING CLUB 13^ S. P. S. DEBATING CLUB THE DEBATING CLUB has come into its own as oneof the leading clubs in School, and a member of the Feder-ated Clubs in the Engineering Society. A membership ofover one hundred has proved that whatever engineers have beenin the past, they are not now indifferent to the value of publicspeaking. The first meeting for the session 1920-21 was held onOctober 22nd in Hart House, when the election of all the officersbut the President took place. This meeting was a get-togetherone, and each man was given three minutes to speak upon hiswork during the past summer. Arrangements were made at thismeeting for the executive to choose the debaters for the debateagainst University College, which was to take place in November 10th a meeting was held to discuss the sub-ject for debate with U. C, which was Resolved that the prin-ciple of self-determination is a false basis for the settlement ofboundaries
