Of considerable architectural interest is the Apulian Romanesque-style cathedral where the bodies of the city's patron saints, Basso and Timoteo, are preserved. It is built at the highest point of the Termolese promontory, has a longitudinal development and is divided into three naves. It is difficult to determine the date of construction of the basilica; some elements, however, would suggest the presence of a cathedral already in the IX-X century. The facade of the church can be ideally (and also materially) divided into two parts: the lower and the upper in sharp contrast to each other.
