Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of the mouth of a salmon louse (Lepeophtheirus salmonis). The parasite is host specific to a number of well-known salmonid fishes such as the sea trout (Salmo trutta), rainbow trout (Onchorhynchus mykiss) and the Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar), where it feeds on the skin, mucus and blood from the fish. Magnification: x300 when printed at 10cm wide.
