Besides being a vet-eran he is a member of the local safety com-mittee and the fire department. No matterwhether he be in bed or at work when the firewhistle blows, he is always on the job. It was with regret that we heard of the deathof Mrs. W. W. Bowser, wife of machinist Wil-liam W. Bowser, of the Glenwood shops. Hehas the heartfelt sympathy of all the shop Pipefitter F. C. Harbaugli has been ill withpneumonia for a number of weeks, but weexpect him back to work soon. John Howe has been appointed superintendentof shops at Glenwood, vice R. B. Stout, who leftour service. Mr. Howe is well known atGlenwood, having worked here previously asboilermaker foreman. He is well liked by allthe employes and we all wish him success in hisnew position. The employes at Glenwoodpresented Mr. Stout with a present beforehe left. Of course, the presentation speechwas made by the Rev. McCabe, who is on thejob on all occasions like this. John Applebee has been appointed round-house foreman at Glenwood. We were glad tohear of his promotion and wish him success inhis new position.
