AIRCRAFT OF THE ROYAL AIR FORCE: HAWKER HURRICANE. - Hurricane Mark IVD, KZ193, fitted with two 40mm Vickers Type 'S' guns and a Vokes tropical filter, on the ground. This aircraft was temporarily converted to Mark V standard in March 1943, by fitting a Rolls-Royce Merlin 32 engine driving a four-bladed propeller, for performance trials at Brooklands and Boscombe Down.
