Queen Square, Bath, the elegance of the Georgian City
Queen Square, Bath, was designed and begun by John Wood the Elder in the 1720s, and was part of his vision for transforming Bath into a model of classical Georgian architecture, which included the Royal Crescent and Circus. The square was named in honour of Queen Caroline, wife to George II.
