The doctor Professor Moriz Benedikt, 1876. Moriz (also Moritz) Benedict (1835-1920) was an Austrian neurologist and a brain researcher of Jewish descent. He was Professor of Neurology at the University of Vienna and during the Second Italian War of Independence (1859) and the Prussian-Austrian War, was a physicist with the Austrian military.
