London, UK. 10 March 2017. 'Penguins' on Westminster Bridge with Big Ben. As part of the British Science Association's (BSA) Science Week from 10 to 19 March 2017, a host of penguin pals will be appearing in London. The BSA want to get a quarter of a million penguins spotted during the week, basically labelling penguins in a series of pictures taken on the ground in Antarctica. Penguin Watch is one example of citizen science project, a growing trend for people outside the scientific profession to help take part in experiments from nature and wildlife to astronomy.
