EdmundPlanning, soon presented a bill establishing and endowingQueens College, in Charlotte, and it was enacted and ap-proved by the Governor January 15, 1771. The board oftrustees included the most distinguished men in the county,and they met March 1, 1771, and elected Edmund Fanningpresident, and three tutors, of whom Rev.
