The road,although good, was broken here and there bycleverly hidden gutters, often dangerous, especiallywhen Mercedes was taking advantage of a stretchof road free from stones. Presently the road crossesan immense heath where the grassy ground undulatesin great billows, and where are grazed the herds ofbulls doomed to the arena.
