These seedlingsare free-flowering ; the colours are bright andattractive, the scapes are strong and erect, theflowers distributed all round them and nothanging to one side, the number of flowers hasincreased from twelve to twenty, until they arefrom thirty to forty, the last-named being not anunusual number. Seed should be sown as soon as ripe. It takesfrom three to four months to germinate, and ifkept in a warm house the seedlings remain green. After this Lachenalias require verylittle fire-heat; a cool, airy bright house suitsthem best, and they should be grown close to thelight. It is advisable to repot and divide upthe bulbs each year, doing this early in IF. Moore, Botanic Qardens, Glasnevin.
