This superb strain is of American origin, and is espe- cially adapted to our climatic conditions. The plants form strong, branching bushes, 2 to '2i feet high, bearing on long, strong stems their handsome Chrys- anthemum-like flowers, which, under ordinary cultiva- tion, average over 5 inches across. The form of the flowers, together with the length of the stems, places them at the head of Asters for cutting. They come into bloom from two to three weeks after the average type, usually being at their best during September, and filling in the gap between the general run of Asters and Chrysan- tliemums. We offer eight beautiful and distinct colors, of which six are shown on the plate opposite.
