Air Sp.\ces.—If wefollow the main bronch-us or one of the lateralbranches toward its dis-tal extremity, we finallyreach a point where thesmooth tubular charac-ter of the bronchus dis-appears and we findsmall projections ap-pearing on all portionsof the bronchus. Theseprojections (alveoli) were first described by Rossiguol •>and shortly afterward confirmed by Kolliker.^ Alveoliare also present on the succeeding and final division ofthe bronchus (Fig. ). Up to this point there is a general agreement of in-vestigators, but they disagree in regard to the structure.
