Centre pivot irrigation. Coloured satellite image of the centre pivot irrigation system near Garden City, Kansas, USA. Lush vegetation is red, harvested fields are cream, grassland is green. Each circular field has a metal frame attached at its centre which has sprinklers along its length. This can be rotated around its pivot to ensure even watering of the crops. Some fields have been partially planted and harvested, resulting in the \cut pie\" shapes seen. Photographed on the 25th September 2000, by the Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus sensor (ETM+) on board NASA's Landsat 7 satellite."
