Theroad which connects Muggi with Lahore is flanked by a chain ofmountains which extend south-east, and, by reaching the river,cause a difficulty on some points of the road. Thick, stiff, longgrass covers the ground. Lahore is reached after seven hours journey, the first village ofthe Madi, a people who in language more than habit seem to differfrom the Bari. At about two hours journey from Lahore is the river Ayu, whichis always full of water, even in the dry season.
