Man plays flute and drum as part of Danza de los Voladores (Dance of the Flyers). This is an ancient Maya ceremony where performers climb a 30 meter (100 foot) pole, eventually launching themselves from the pole while tied with ropes. Performed here at Xcaret's "Mexico Espectacular" show where 300 singers, dancers and other performers tell the story of the country, from the early Mayan days to the brutal conquistador takeover and the colorful present.
