One of the most desirable summer flowering Shrubs, beginning to bloom in July, it continues until cut by severe frost. The flowers are of a pleasing shade of violet mauve, and are borne in dense cylindrical spikes from 12 to 15 inches in length by 3 inches in diameter; it succeeds everywhere and flowers freely the first season planted.
