An X marks the spot where the Oxford Martyrs were executed.


The Oxford Martyrs were Thomas Cranmer, Nicholas Ridley and Hugh Latimer (the Archbishop of Canterbury). They were tried for heresy in 1555 and executed by burning at the stake.
