The above description is taken from a single specimen in the SouthAfrican Museum, which may be identified with the above and Evermann give the depth as 28 in the length, but thisdoes not correspond with Jordan and Fowlers description, or withLacepedes figure, though too much reliance cannot be placed on thelatter. The specimen closely resembles Gunthers figure of hislineolatus (Fische d. Sudsee, vol. i, p. 112, pi. lxxii
