Falmouth Week Pink Wig Procession in aid of breast cancer. Procession led by the Falmouth Marine Band
After an enforced two-year absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Pink Wig parade crew were back in Falmouth this summer just in time for the events tenth year. The Pink Wig Night party is now the traditional first night of Falmouth Week. The parade began in 2009 when a group of friends decided to show their support to founder Sally Hicks-Wood at the beginning of her cancer treatment, by walking through town wearing a pink wig. Since then, it has grown beyond all recognition and has raised more than £110,000 for breast cancer charities, including the Breast Care Team at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro and Breast Cancer
