Trolley Frog with RenewableWearing Pan The trolley frog shown in the accompanying illus-tration is a new design placed on the market by theGeneral Electric Company, Schenectady, N. Y. It con-sists of two parts, a malleable-iron body and a malleable-. The trolley, span and guy wires are fastened into thebody part of the frog. The pan receives all the wearand is easily replaced without disturbing or altering theadjustment of the trolley or supporting wires, sincethey are fastened to the body of the frog only. Re-newals can therefore be made with a very short inter-ruption of traffic. The branch trolley wire can be endedin the body by being clamped under the set screw asshown, or it can be run through the frog and attacheddirectly to the guy wires. Although the frog is designed for 15-deg. turnouts,by properly locating it with respect to the main andbranch lines it can be used for almost any weight is only 8 lb., and on account of its lightnessthe life of the trolley wire immediately adjoining thefrog is considerably prolonged. 704 ELE
