The operculum of the gonozooecium much wider, has a straight proximal edge. The sternal area has numerous scattered pores, of which the outermost are arranged in a dis- tinct curved line, and a small transversely oval cryptocyst lam- ina on its inner sur- face. Genus CALPIDIUM Busk, 1852 The ovicell is a terminal gonoecium. The operculum has a sinus. The operculum of the gonozooecium much wider, has a straight proxi- mal edge. The sternal area has 5 fenestrae. The aperture, the anter of which is surrounded by a strongly projecting margin, has a trilobed or triangular sinus ending in a point, and is provided with two very strong hinge teeth, projecting within the aperture.
