Masjid Quba, the very first Mosque that was built, Medina, Saudi Arabia


When Prophet Muhammad fled from Mecca in the year which marks the start of the Islamic calendar, he established the first Mosque of Islam just outside Madinah. It was named Masjid Quba. This mosque is build on the same site, and is mosque which is visited frequently by travellers on Umrah and Hajj - the islamic pilgrimages.
