And then againthey are married when very young and their attentionis drawn on other things so that there is no time leftfor school and so they grow up in ignorance and neverlearn to read and write. But gradually schools for girls are being establishedand some are getting to school, especially Christianand Parsee girls for both believe in education and donot marry so young. We give every girl a chance togo to school and even compel them to go (for some donot want to) that all may at least learn to read theBible for themselves and write their own letters. Butsome of the older ones cannot write, so they must al-ways get some one to write their love-letters for would you like that? No secrets in this countryyou know.
