The losses on the part of inhabitants ofthe jungle were nearly but not quite asgreat as those of their human enemiesand domesticated animals thousand one hundred andfour snakes and over 19,000 wild beastsof various kinds were killed. The natives of India do little to keepdown the number of man-slaying animals,.
