Peruvian mummy research. Researcher handling textiles found clothing the mummy of a young woman, held at the Darder Museum in Girona, Spain. The mummy originates from Peru and dates from around 1200 years ago. Ongoing anthropological research using forensic and X-ray techniques is attempting to discover her role in society, and her cause of death. Photographed in 2013, in the laboratory of researcher Mercedes Gonzalez, director of the IECIM (Instituto Estudios Cientificos de Momias), in Madrid, Spain.
