Torrechiara Castle is a fifteenth-century manor house with medieval and Renaissance features at the same time; [2] located on the top of a panoramic rocky hill at the gates of Val Parma, it is flanked by the small medieval village of Torrechiara, a hamlet of Langhirano, in the province of Parma. [3] Wanted by Count Pier Maria II de 'Rossi as a powerful defensive structure and elegant love nest for himself and his lover Bianca Pellegrini, [4] is considered one of the most remarkable, [3] scenographic [5] and best preserved castles of 'Italy.
