Columnar cell or blunt duct adenosis of human breast, light micrograph. Adenosis is a benign change consisting of an enlargement of the lobules with an increased number of ductules or acini within them. The terminal duct lobular units (TDLU) show dilated acini lined by tightly packed columnar epithelial cells with prominent apical cytoplasmic snouts.
