Taken from near Timsgearraidh. Looking southwards at low tide with the Lon Erista river flowing out across Uig beach (Traigh Uuige) on the west coast of Lewis. The Lewis Viking Chessmen were uncovered in the dunes to the rear, beyond which are the mountains of Mealisval (Mealaisbhal) and Tahaval (Tahabhal). The sands are turned golden by the evening light.
