SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, — On Oct. 25, before an audience of Soldiers and distinguished guests at Patton Hall on Shaw Air Force Base, Lt. Gen. James L. Terry, USARCENT commanding general, unveiled the command’s Hall of Heroes in a ribbon cutting ceremony, which features 24 plaques of Medal of Honor recipients. The Medal of Honor recipients hailed from 14 states, from to Texas, and fought in battles from the Battle of the Bulge to Baghdad. Lt. Gen. Terry also recognized the accomplishments of local heroes from Sumter and the surrounding area.
