Marmoset skeleton. Coloured X-ray of a marmoset monkey (genus Callithrix) specimen. The monkey is held in place by wire supports (white vertical lines) which are attached to a base (bottom). There are 18 different species of marmoset, most reaching 20 centimetres in length. They have primitive features relative to other monkeys; they have claws rather than nails, lack wisdom teeth and have a primitive brain layout.
