The Falkirk Wheel is the only rotating boat lift connecting two canals in Central Scotland

A close up view of the main mechanism of the Falkirk Wheel in Stirlingshire is seen on a sunny day in early summer. The wheel is about halfway through its rotation and is in the process of lifting a tourist boat to the higher canal. The strong shapes and light tones of the wheel’s structure contrast with the blue of the sky.
