Shakespeare Birthday Parade, Stratford upon Avon. The Band of the Corps of Royal Engineers lead the parade. Actors, foreign diplomats and civic dignitaries joined a 1,000-strong Shakespeare Birthday Parade through the streets to pay tribute to the Stratford-born playwright. The town has been celebrating Shakespeare's birthday since 1824; celebrations that always begin with the grand procession.
