The wheels are regulated and water hammer in the pipeprevented by special governing devices designed by theGirard Water Wheel Company of San Francisco, whichgive excellent results. In the panoramic view of the station the Hume, mainwaste gate, forebay, pipe line, power house, employes quar-ters and superintendents residence are shown. The safetygate is located about midway along the flume and is shownin another view. The current is conveyed from the generating station tothe sub-station in Bakersfield over six No. 4, B. & S., copperwires. We show two views of this sub-station, which alsocontains the offices.
