Again the author calls attention to the fact that all these ex-amples are based on a condition of still air and tightly sealed en-closing surfaces, a condition which never exists in our buildingsbecause the walls, ceilings and floors are porous and the windowsand doors are surrounded by man}^ cracks and crevices throughwhich the air leaks in or is forced out as may be determined bytheir location in relation to the neutral zone. This condition may be explained as follows: There is alwaysa place or plane inside a room or building that will be equal inpressure to that of the air surrounding it on the outside. Thisplane has been rightly called the neutral zone. Its exact lo-cation in a room or building depends on the relative leakages atthe ceiling or up
