Kampers enjoyed being able to build birdhouses with Home Depot, make tie-dye shirts with the camp staff and create various art projects during their week stay at Camp Dawson. Kids Kamp first started in 1991 as a project of the State Fair Council, to give the dependents of deployed service members a better understanding of what their parents experienced, while overseas.
