We have in the three miles from Seabeach to GrumberCorner what is probably the best preserved section ofthe whole of Stane Street, for here it has neither beenaltered by metalling to meet the requirements of moderntraffic, nor wholly obliterated by the plough. In thehighest part of this stretch, between the limit of GumberFarm at the Parliamentary County Division Boundaryand Gumber Corner, the road, except for its covering ofdown tur
