The boys found a place where the water came down asa waterfall (Fig. 28). There was a log lying across the brook, 58 A River Basin, and we crossed over upon it. Up the hill there was a large oldtree that had fallen down upon the ground. The rain camedown, and the boys crawled under the log to keep dry. We girlsstayed down by the falls, and held umbrellas over us. When westarted for home it began to rain harder, and the water ran instreams along the road. We enjoyed our walk, but if it had notbeen for the rain it would have been more pleasant. Our teach-ers went with us. Edna McCalmont, 12 yrs. The Great Father of Waters.
