Hardlytwo years had elapsed when Mr. Weber decidedto strike out for himself, fully convinced thathe would succeed. In this he was not mistaken,for the knowledge and rectitude of the youngbuilder were immediately appreciated. The con-tracts he received were large and numerous, andhe built all the sugar refinery houses that wereerected and operated by the Havemeyer family inNew York, Brooklyn and Jersey City.
